The Secretary of State for Justice, Tontxu Rodríguez, who was at the meeting, described the attitude of the lawyers as “contrary to any negotiating logic” and lamented the group’s “proximity” to “start a real negotiation after almost four weeks”. strike in which civilians are the main victims”.

The new proposal from the jurists of the Judiciary urges enforcement of the down payment clausewhich would mean that the level of their remuneration would be compared to that of judges and magistrates.

The new requirement means that not only will each lawyer individually receive 85 percent of what the judges receive from their respective courts, but the LAJ’s total salary will also be related to the salary of the appellate court, which in practice would mean a double deposit clause, i.e. a double salary increase.

The ministry has proposed to the strike committee to study a salary increase based on the population groups in the lawyers’ destinations, which would mainly benefit lawyers with lower salaries, a point that the negotiators rejected.

Both the strike committee and the Justice Department have held press conferences to explain their positions.
