The images are reminiscent of the film adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic “The Birds”: in a neighborhood in Singapore, violent attacks of crows on passers-by are currently taking place in rows.
The birds perch on lampposts and crow loudly at passersby, before diving singly or in pairs and attacking people on the head from behind. City officials have removed nests from affected areas and also caught injured birds that were limping or having difficulty flying.
And rightly so: it is believed that the animals used the attacks to scare people away to protect their injured peers – as they usually only do with their offspring.
