Trade union Satse has called for a strike by nurses and physiotherapists for next February 28 and has accused the general director of Health, Carlos Artundo, of not including the sector’s proposals in the meeting of the General Council of Public Functions. Likewise, he has criticized the fact that the “oral agreement” reached with Salud “has not been reflected in the proposals presented” in this space, and has indicated that he does not rule out continue mobilizations “if they do not sit down to responsibly negotiate our proposals to end our grievances and the deterioration of our working conditions.”
This was announced by the regional secretary of the union. Maria Jose Algarraat the end of a demonstration that swept through the streets of Pamplona this Saturday under the motto ‘We want to take care of you with dignity’.
Upon completion, Algarra read a manifesto explaining that this protest was “never linked to reaching agreements with the administration; we just wanted show the fatigueof the nursing profession “in recent years and months”.
He has assured that “the responsibility of care and concern for patients are the ones who have prevented an absolute disaster in the relief effort over the years”. However, he has criticized the fact that “despite these efforts, the various administrations they have not offset the tax and ballast that the health system has placed on nurses and physiotherapists” and “they have abused nursing capacity to questionable limits”.
So he demanded that “all commitments to the profession” are fulfilledand has claimed one change of model to replace the current one, “already obsolete, medicalized, extremely hospitable, unable to respond to the massive aging of the population and the indiscriminate use of health services, the increase in diseases and the needs of the socio-health sector” that is say “abandoned in the present”.
