Violent head-on collision Monday evening in the Tyrolean Zillertal: A drunk driver (67) collided with an oncoming taxi bus in Gerlos. Both drivers suffered injuries – the car in particular was badly damaged.
According to the police, the accident happened shortly before 7 p.m. on the B165 Gerlossstraße. The force of the impact literally tore a tire off the car. Both drivers apparently got off relatively lightly and suffered only minor injuries.
Nevertheless, the men – the 67-year-old car driver and the taxi driver (26) – were taken to the Schwaz district hospital as a precaution.
Driver’s license removed
The 67-year-old was drunk. “His driver’s license was provisionally revoked on the spot, “said the detectives. Appropriate advertisements will follow. During the registration of the accident, the B165 was closed to all traffic for approximately 30 minutes.
