A Bangladeshi youth accidentally drove into a shipping container. He was unable to get out of a container on a ship in Chittagong harbor while hiding with friends. The ship carrying the stowaway then sailed to Malaysia.
After several days at sea, the 16-year-old was found weak in his container. The staff took him to a clinic, where he was treated. The boy then began his return journey, accompanied by the staff of his country’s embassy.
On Tuesday, he finally met his parents and siblings again at the airport in Dhaka, a foreign ministry official said on Wednesday. “We are so happy to have him back with us,” his father told local media, thanking the governments of Bangladesh and Malaysia.
The incident happened in January. The teenager was unable to get out of a container on a ship in Chittagong harbor while hiding with friends.
