This time there are no unknown flying objects or lights in the sky. A few days ago, a resident of the Japanese coastal town of Hamamatsu reported a mysterious find on the Pacific coast. The sea was a huge metal ball washed up.
The area was immediately sealed off and explosive ordnance disposal teams were called. But the all-clear could be given: it was not a naval mine and there was no danger of explosion. But authorities are still puzzling out exactly what it is.
It is probably not a crashed spy balloon, the 1.5 meter diameter ball would be much too heavy. X-rays were used to identify a cavity in the completely rusted object. In addition, according to Japanese media, there are also two handles on the surface, which indicated that the ball could have been stuck to something.
Mooring buoy or “alien ball”?
Police and military continue to analyze the bullet. Meanwhile, various theories are exchanged on social media. Some believe in an “alien bullet” or an egg from the Japanese movie monster “Godzilla”. Others have a much more mundane explanation: it’s just a mooring buoy.
Incidentally, the safety measures and prohibitions that were initially introduced have been lifted. Residents are no longer asked to avoid the area.
