Curious accident in Graz: the motorcycle of a 29-year-old should have accelerated by itself while driving. To avoid a collision with a car, the rider tipped the bicycle. His passenger (25) was seriously injured in the fall. A few hours later, a 15-year-old moped rider in Southeast Styria was hit by a car and seriously injured.
On Friday afternoon, two men rode a motorcycle together in the Straßgang district of Graz. When the driver noticed a car that was no longer turning left, the motorcycle said it accelerated on its own. The man from Graz tilted the motorcycle to the left so as not to collide with the car.
The two men fell and were injured. According to the police, the 25-year-old passenger was even taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. An alcohol test with the steering wheel was negative.
The motorcycle was seized after consultation with the public prosecutor’s office to investigate a possible defect.

One person was also seriously injured in a traffic accident in St. Anna am Aigen (Southeast Styria district) on Friday evening. A driver (47) ignored the right of way when turning at an intersection and overlooked a moped driver (15). The two vehicles collided head-on. The young man was thrown into a meadow and was seriously injured. He was flown by rescue helicopter to the children’s clinic in Graz.
