A customer of Wien Energie was sent a partial amount of four cents. The demand is much less than the letter and stamp sent by mail ultimately cost the company.
The excitement has been high for months because of the increased Wien Energy bills. Almost every day we receive calls from desperate customers who no longer know how to pay for electricity and gas.
“I don’t get it at all”
Fortunately, Bogda I. does not have this problem. Nevertheless, she turned to the “Krone”. Also with a gas bill, but a very low one. Because the 8th partial amount in this settlement period is only 4 cents (!) for the woman from Vienna. “I just laughed, I don’t get it at all,” says I. She contacted customer service, but the wait was way too long.
She was particularly surprised by the bill, as she has to pay electricity and gas each year in twelve installments of 242 euros. It is a mystery to her why only 4 cents are needed for the eighth term. “Of course I’ll pay for it. If not, I’ll probably get a reminder,” she laughs.
And the compensation for it would then be much more than the bill. But the letter plus giro collection form that Wien Energie sent her is also more expensive for the company than she earns with the partial amount.
A rarity
According to Wien Energie, the calculation of the partial amounts is automated. However, such little ones are a rarity. “Of course you don’t have to transfer the 4 cents”, a spokeswoman emphasizes.
