Rescue in Bolivia – 31 days lost in the jungle: hunter found

Date:

A hunter lost in the jungle of Bolivia has been found after 31 days. To survive, the 30-year-old drank his own urine for the first few days because he couldn’t find water. Fortunately, encounters with wild boars and jaguars did not end well, his family reports.

Jhonatan Luiz Acosta went into the jungle with friends a month ago, but got lost and couldn’t find his way back. Despite a search, the man could not initially be found. A plane dropped food packages over the area where the 30-year-old was suspected, but Acosta did not find any of the packages.

Then on Saturday the good news: after Acosta fired a shot, relatives found the fighter – dehydrated, very weak and with wounds on his feet. He was taken to a hospital in the town of Baures, in the Beni department of lowland Bolivia. He is now recovering from the hardships there.

The young man thanked his family, who never gave up on him. According to Bolivian media, he said his faith in God gave him the strength to survive.
