Spectacular traffic accident Thursday evening in the Tyrolean Unterland: a 30-year-old resident lost control of his car in Söll (Kufstein district) and crashed into a tree. The force of the impact caused the vehicle to flip over and land on its side. The driver must have been drunk – an alcohol test was refused!
The 30-year-old was driving his car on a municipal road in Söll at around 8:45 p.m. when he suddenly veered to the right of the road and crashed into the tree on the side of the road. “The force of the impact caused the vehicle to flip over, spin and finally come to rest on the driver’s side,” police said.
Even freed from the accident vehicle
The driver was able to free himself from the car, witnesses of the accident have now set the rescue chain in motion. The resident apparently escaped relatively lightly with minor injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Kufstein Hospital.
‘Handler refused alcohol test’
But he must have had one before the accident. It is said that he showed clear symptoms of alcoholism. However, the driver refused an alcohol test. “His driver’s license has been provisionally taken away,” the detectives conclude.
