Saturday evening there was a knife attack between two neighbors in Vienna-Donaustadt. Both victims (33) and perpetrators (41) were injured.
The police were alerted around 10 p.m. at the residential building in Essling. In the stairwell, the 41-year-old attacked the 33-year-old with a knife. Shortly after the attack, the 33-year-old, together with another neighbor, managed to take the knife from the older man. The suspect fled into the apartment.
Kitchen knives secured
When police arrived, officers asked the man to leave the apartment, which he did. The suspect was arrested with the support of WEGA, the police reported on Sunday. According to him, there was a fight between the people, but he did not have a knife with him. The alleged murder weapon – a kitchen knife – was still stuck in the stairwell.
The 33-year-old had several abrasions and scrapes. He refused medical attention from the emergency services. The 41-year-old was treated at a hospital for his head wound before being taken into custody.
