The Government of Spain has entrusted the Basque Government with the management of: tunnel works between Zaratamo and the center of Bilbao of the new high-speed train network, as announced by the Ministry of Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport.

According to the department headed by Iñaki Arriola, the section is awaiting final approval of its information study, pending the environmental impact assessment. ADIF Alta Velocidad, for its part, will pay for the superstructure and facilities of 52.68 million.
A monitoring and coordination committee and another technical committee between the administrations will oversee the agreement.
Guipuzcoan Section
On the other hand, the Board of Directors has given the green light to the management contract that will allow the Basque government to carry out work on the high-speed trains in the Section Astigarraga-Oiartzun-Lezo
The estimated budget in the absence of the final amount to be included in the final information inquiry is €380.27 million
According to the Ministry of Arriola, in this way last year’s agreement between the competent administrations to create a specific agreement for this section and to remove it from the existing order for the series of works pending completion in Gipuzkoa, given the inability to complete on time.
