the lehendakari, Inigo Urkulluhas said that the Basque Country “will need time” to adapt to the reality of the electric vehicle, “a change that will not be easy and will require a great deal of effort”.
Urkullu recalled that Germany or France have expressed concern about the horizon set by the European Union to ban the sale of new combustion cars in 2035, which is “just around the corner”.
In this sense, he added that “adaptations as important and necessary as this one require the commitment of everyone and must, of course, take into account all the undoubtedly very heterogeneous realities on the European territory”.
In any case, he assured: “we look to the future with confidence and optimism”.
Iñigo Urkullu, accompanied by Councilors Idoia Mendia and Arantxa Tapia, attended this Friday the inauguration of the new building of the AIC car center in Amorebieta-Etxano.
