We usually have very specific ideas about people from the countries of origin Turkey, ex-Yugoslavia, Syria and Afghanistan in terms of family structures and gender role models – some might call that prejudice. However, a new study could really shake them up. For the first time, the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) together with the Institute for Empirical Social Research (IFES) surveyed the affected groups themselves on a wide range of topics, such as division of roles, values, future prospects and premarital sex.
