Attempted murder of baby? – Accused mother: shocking drama about little Mya

Date:

In July, a baby suffered a cerebral hemorrhage due to a concussion. The mother is said to have almost killed her daughter – she will be tried for attempted murder on Tuesday. Other than a “light shaker,” the 29-year-old says she’s never roughly assaulted her child.

Mya was only four months old when she was admitted to Vienna’s general hospital: she suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage – caused by a shocking trauma. The little one survived, but suffered serious damage – it will be permanent.

Mya would have been shaken at least twice
The girl’s mother soon became the center of police attention. According to the indictment, she allegedly shook Mya at least twice before the serious injuries occurred, which, according to reports, could have caused the baby’s death. The public prosecutor accuses the 29-year-old of attempted murder.

“If her baby cries more often than usual, she can no longer control her impulses – she grabs the child under the arms or by the hips and violently shakes it from side to side for several seconds,” the complaint describes the young mother’s mental state. This is defended by lawyer Nikolaus Rast.

Suspects never hurt their daughter
The woman admitted to police that she shook her hips, but not so much that Mya almost died. “I often get pictures of her lying in her hospital bed. When I see the photos, my heart almost breaks,” said the detainee. She will now stand trial in Vienna for attempted murder on Tuesday.
