The director of Osalan, Lourdes Iscarexplained that accidents in the construction sector have increased and, as explained by the Deputy Minister, Elena Perez, the most common accident in this sector is a fall from a height, which also has the most serious consequences. Every accident has a different cause, but in any case they all happen because prevention measures fail.
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security has explained what Osalan’s work is: it is not a statistical or sanctioning body, but a technical one. For his part, Iscar has confirmed that the company is “ultimately responsible for everything that happens in the workplace”.
