The union is demanding an expansion of the workforce, equalization with the staff of the Provincial Council residences, replacements from day one and an increase in full-time contracts, in addition to a salary increase and other labor improvements.
The workers of the Biscay residences started today, Wednesday, a ten-day strikesummoned by the trade union ELA, to demand negotiations on the agreement.
So far, ELA has struck for 29 days in homes in Biscay, where some 5,000 people work. LAB has also promoted other strikes by an agreement last signed in 2017.
The ten days of strike that ELA has now called for will be held from March 15 to 24.
