Spectacular accident Sunday afternoon in Angerberg in the Tyrolean Unterland: Due to a fly in the car, the 59-year-old driver lost control of the wheel and went off the road. The woman and her 93-year-old mother in the passenger seat suffered injuries.
The serious accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. The 59-year-old resident was driving her car on Unterinntalstraße in the direction of Mariastein when she was apparently distracted by a fly in the vehicle.
Car stuck in drain shaft
“At Angerberg, the driver tried to get the fly out of the window. In doing so, she drove her car over the right edge of the road, where the car got stuck in a drainage channel,” the detectives said.
Mother and daughter taken to hospital
The driver and her 93-year-old mother in the passenger seat suffered injuries. After first aid, they were taken by ambulance to Kufstein Hospital. The car was a total loss.
