The labor unions LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK have called on the workers of Osakidetza cleaning service to strike for another two weeks for the agreement, from March 20 to April 2, as part of their mobilizations to advance the negotiations of the agreement and its approval .
The workers of the cleaning service subcontracted by Osakidetza, who carry five years without an agreementhave gathered this Thursday at 11:30 am in front of the headquarters of the Labor Relations Council (CRL) in Bilbao, where the union representatives have met with the service companies, without reaching an agreement.
Labor unions LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK recalled that workers began negotiating the new agreement in 2018, “convinced that this would be an easy negotiation, as approval with Osakidetza staff meant they would only have to adjust certain matters and update them to the new agreements made within Osakidetza”. But, as they have complained, “after the countless meetings that have been held, the absolute blockage of the negotiations is clear.”
‘The absolute blockade of the negotiations is evident’
The unions have denounced that both the companies and Osakidetza are “breaking the law”. approval principle by refusing to adapt and apply to us the various subjects that applied to Osakidetza’s own staff”.
The trade union federations have specified that they are not demanding “issues beyond approval”, but “simply” that “the same conditions be applied to Osakidetza’s own staff on the basis of the principle of approval” in order to “have access to to the different calls for professional careers, a broader and fairer job cover system, access to partial retirement linked to the shelter contract, permits and licenses that Osakidetza employees have already recognized”.
After denouncing that Osakidetza “has not deigned” to respond to the proposals of the union representation to try to unblock the situation, they also criticized the mediator appointed by the Basque health service who is “a poor, imprecise and concise proposal that is insufficient and that leaves many questions in the air”.
