Accident in Burgenland – horse roaming alone on the road – collision

Hard night work for the helpers in Burgenland: On the B57 in Rauchwart (Güssing district) a car collided with a horse running alone on Saturday night. The driver of the vehicle was slightly injured, the animal did not survive the collision.

According to the Burgenland State Security Center (LSZ), the slightly injured driver was treated at Güssing Hospital. According to the command of the district fire brigade, the horse died on the spot.

Where did the animal come from?
The collision happened around 11 p.m. Friday. In addition to the Red Cross and the police, 15 members of the Rauchwart volunteer fire brigade were deployed. It is not yet clear why the animal wandered alone on the main road in the late evening hours.

The impact of the animal weighing hundreds of kilos caused total damage to the black Ford, the airbag prevented worse.

Just a few hours after another accident in Güssing
Only Friday there was an accident with a bus in the south of Burgenland, in which five children were slightly injured. A car collided with the school bus on L106 at 07:30, the driver, a pensioner from the Güssing district, was trapped and suffered serious injuries.

Three fire brigades and two ambulances are present
According to initial information on the scene, four students were injured in total. After the accident, a local diversion was put in place on the Rijksweg. Three fire brigades from the region, two ambulances and the police came into action.
