Criticize jury – double murderer (52) blames women

Date:

Gottfried O. shot and killed two women and was sentenced to life imprisonment at the end of July. Now he’s nagging the Supreme Court that “too many women” have served on the jury. Vain. The Supreme Court upheld the double murder conviction.

Apparently Gottfried O. (52) still doesn’t feel guilty. His comments on the appeal to the Supreme Court are no different: almost eight months after his sentence to life imprisonment for two murders, the man from Salzburg still speaks of a “violent emotional state” and an “emotional overload” that made him bloodthirsty Act should have caused.

As a reminder: O. appeared on May 5, 2021, just before midnight, with his ‘ex’, a Walser (50). He pulled out his gun, first fired three shots at the woman’s mother (76) and then pointed the gun at the 50-year-old. He pulled the trigger seven times. First in the back, then in the head. An ‘execution by an offended narcissist’, the victim’s lawyer summed up during the trial at the end of July.

Apparently the convict felt wronged as a man
All eight jurors agreed at the time: guilty of two counts of murder – life imprisonment with a sentence. O., on the other hand, now complains that the question of manslaughter was not raised. The detective criticizes the occupation of the jury box and feels disadvantaged by the proportion of women: seven of the eight lay judges were women.

“The law does not provide for any special regulation on the composition of the jury box to be made according to gender-specific criteria,” the Supreme Court replied, immediately dismissing the appeal. Means: The conviction is final. The Oberlandesgericht Linz has yet to decide on the amount of the fine. O. will probably ask for clemency here.
