Sarcophagus of Ramses II can be admired in Paris

As part of the traveling exhibition “Rameses and the Gold of the Pharaohs”, the sarcophagus is now on display again in Paris after 40 years.

Although the exhibition has already been shown in San Francisco and Houston, Paris is the only stop in the world for the sarcophagus. France greatly values ​​Egypt’s trust, French minister Rima Abdul Malak said at the unveiling of the sarcophagus on Monday. The fact that he can be seen in Paris again after more than 40 years also proves the excellent understanding between the two countries.

The wooden box was removed from a high-security transport box in the Grande Halle de la Villette, where it will be the highlight of the exhibition from April 7.

Until September 6, more than 180 objects from his reign are on display, including royal masks, statues and jewelry.

Ramses II is considered one of the most important pharaohs of ancient Egypt. He was born about 1303 BC. born in 1213 BC and died in 1213 BC.
