Search via live stream – threat on TikTok: perpetrator wanted to get hold of a weapon

A man (34) is said to have made death threats via TikTok to another 38-year-old man in Vienna. He was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Brünner Strasse. The special unit WEGA and a police helicopter were also deployed. The suspect confessed. He just wanted to scare the victim.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday near the home of the potential victim. However, the man did not have the firearm that he had previously announced online, the Viennese police reported on Friday.

Never wanted to carry out his threats
“The 34-year-old known,” says police spokesman Markus Dittrich. However, he claimed that he never intended to carry out his threats. In doing so, he “just wanted to scare the 38-year-old,” he said in the interview.

Murder weapon claimed via TikTok live stream
The alleged perpetrator was nevertheless arrested and taken to a prison. He is accused of making dangerous threats. According to the suspect, the reason was alleged insults by the 38-year-old. He then threatened to kill the older man via a social media livestream. To back up his threat, he demanded a gun from another person in the video. With the gun he would have gone to the victim’s home address to carry out his threat.

According to the police, the 34-year-old has been several times in front of the victim’s home.
