The emergency services of the Lavamünd fire brigade had a thousand guardian angels on Friday morning when they had to divert to the Sobo after an accident involving four people. During the recovery work, a truck following behind had slipped and threatened to drive onto the scene of the accident.
The alarm was raised at around 07:52, four people were trapped in an accident on the Soboth. The accident site on the South Styrian border road B 69 was still on the Carinthian side. A four-seater car went off the road and flipped over. When the emergency services arrived, the occupants were able to get out of the car themselves. Fortunately, only one person was slightly injured.
Accident disaster prevention
Another traffic accident occurred during the safety work. A dangerous goods carrier had slipped and collided with a road maintenance security vehicle, which fortunately had secured the scene of the accident. “Had it not been for the snow plow, the dangerous goods transporter would have crashed at the scene of the accident without braking,” reports Mario Janko, chief of operations of the Lavamünd fire brigade. “We had a thousand guardian angels,” says Janko, who will not soon forget this mission. The trailer was also secured by the emergency services and removed by a private towing company.
