In connection with the murder in a children’s home in Wunsiedel, Bavaria, the suspicion of a sex offense seems to have been confirmed. As the police and the public prosecutor announced on Friday, a 25-year-old German has been detained.
A comparison of protected traces resulted in a match. The man is from the Wunsiedel district. He was not a youth care employee, says Matthias Goers, spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office in Hof.
Found dead in his own room
There is also a suspicion in the case of an eleven-year-old boy who lived in the institution. The 10-year-old was found dead in her room at Wunsiedel child and youth care in early April. She died of trauma to the neck, according to police.
According to their own statements, the St. Josef Child and Youth Care Center in Wunsiedel normally hosts about 90 children, adolescents and young adults. The specialist facility is there for young people and their families who need help with education.
