A woman stole two waiters’ wallets in Radstadt and Pongau on Wednesday. After an unsuccessful search, the young lady and her accomplices were finally caught.
A young lady from Romania was on a thieves train in Pongau in Salzburg on Wednesday. The woman initially stole a waiter’s wallet from an inn in Radstadt. The staff immediately noticed the theft, but the perpetrator could not be caught for the time being. A search for the escape vehicle, a car with a French license plate, initially yielded nothing.
Car prevented escape
A few hours later, the thief was planning mischief again, at another inn in Werfen. Here too, the Romanian stole the wallet of a service employee. Again, the waitress working there immediately noticed the theft and ran after the woman. But this time the escape must not succeed. An approaching car blocked the getaway vehicle’s path. The police were then able to arrest three Romanian nationals aged 19, 23 and 25 and take them to the police detention center in Salzburg.
As there have been more similar incidents in recent days, further investigations are underway.
