No writers – ‘Game of Thrones’ not filmed during strikes

Date:

Because of the writers’ strikes, filming in Hollywood has to wait. The series “Game of Thrones” is affected by this.

Game of Throne fans need to stay strong now. The shooting has been postponed due to the strikes in Hollywood. In a blog post, author George RR Martin explained that the writers’ room for the prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight for the streaming service Max has been closed by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) for the duration of the strike. “I’m not in LA, so I can’t participate in a picketline, but I want to express my full and unequivocal support for my guild,” says the screenwriter.

Stranger Things is also on hiatus
The WGA went on strike on May 2 after failing to secure a new, higher-paying employment contract with Hollywood studios, including Netflix and Walt Disney. Late night shows immediately dropped, and some TV series and movies followed.

On Sunday, the writers and creators of the Netflix hit “Stranger Things” announced that production has been paused: “Writing doesn’t stop once filming begins,” the executives said on Twitter. “We look forward to starting production with our amazing cast and crew, but we can’t during this strike.”
