After the publication this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country, a new public information period begins with a period of 45 working days for making allegations.
The official Gazette of the Basque Country has this Wednesday the first approval of the Territorial Renewable Energy Sector Plan (PTS) in Euskadi. This is a plan drawn up by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government with the aim of having a planning tool that renewable cardincluding wind power and photovoltaics.
The PTS determines 110 sensitive sites to install wind or photovoltaic farms at 92 locations. Specifically, it considers 42 in Álava, 49 in Bizkaia and 19 in Gipuzkoa.
As for the plants wind fixed 19 possible locations within alava (8 in the Llanada Alavesa, 3 in the Montaña Alavesa, 3 in Añana, 2 in the Ayala Valley, 1 in Rioja Alavesa, 1 in Aramaio and 1 in Legutio) 26 in Biscay (8 in Metropolitan Bilbao, 6 in Encartaciones, 4 in Busturialdea-Artibai, 3 in Mungialdea, 3 in Arratia-Nervión, 1 in Duranguesado, 1 in Busturialdea-Urdaibai) and 12 in Guipuzkoa (4 in Tolosaldea, 3 in Bajo Deba, 3 in Alto Deba, 2 in Urola Kosta).
As for the amenities photovoltaic, indicates 23 possible locations in both Álava and Bizkaia and 7 in Gipuzkoa. The distribution would be as follows: in Álava, 10 in the Llanada Alavesa, 4 in Añana, 3 in the Montaña Alavesa, 2 in the Rioja Alavesa, 2 in the Ayala Valley, 2 in the Gorbea foothills. In Bizkaia, 9 in Metropolitan Bilbao, 5 in Mungialdea, 4 in Duranguesado, 2 in Arratia, 2 Encartaciones and 1 in Ayala. In Gipuzkoa, 4 in Tolosaldea and 1 in Alto Deba, Donostialdea and Urola Kosta.
The department headed by the consultant Arantxa Tapia has reported in a note that the main goal of the Territorial Sector Plan (PTS) for renewable energy is to become one of the basic tools that allow to achieve energy sustainability in the Basque Country. “It will help the Basque Country to have the renewable energy facilities necessary to carry out the energy transition culminating in the decarbonisation of the economy,” he added.
According to the memorandum of the Ministry of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, one of the foundations of the text is the commitment to the own use and the energy communities“two key aspects to improve the share of renewable energy in final energy consumption”.
The share of renewable energy in final consumption, including imported electricity, is 16.6%, without that the figure stands at 10%, and the 2030 targets envisage up to 21%.
Following the publication of the Territorial Plan for the Renewable Energy Sector (PTS) this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country, a new public information period will begin with a period of 45 working days so that claims can be made.
The aim of the Basque government is to finalize the territorial sector plan before the end of this legislature, which ends in the summer of next year.
