A 13-year-old boy is said to have robbed two boys in Vienna-Simmering around 5 p.m. on Thursday. As reported by the State Police Directorate, he threatened a 14-year-old with a knife in Braunhubergasse and took off his shoes and coat. Moments later, the 13-year-old showed his knife to a colleague in Simmeringer Hauptstrasse and used it to force a mobile phone.
The boy managed to escape for the time being. Thanks to the information provided by the victims and other witness statements, his identity was quickly clarified, the 13-year-old was tracked down and found at his home address. Since he is still incapable of criminal prosecution at the age of 13, the native Syrian cannot be held criminally responsible.
Loot found in the apartment
The stolen valuables were secured in the 13-year-old’s apartment and returned to their rightful owners by police. The Vienna Criminal Investigation Department, Southern Department, has taken over the investigation to clarify whether there are other possible victims of the boy.
