The Russian secret service FSB has reported the arrest of two Ukrainian “saboteurs”. The suspects are said to have made plans to blow up power poles at nuclear power plants in Russia.
The aim was to bring about the closure of the reactors. “A sabotage group of the Ukrainian foreign intelligence service has tried to blow up about 30 high-voltage lines of the Leningrad (near St. Petersburg, ed.) and Kalinin (between St. Petersburg and Moscow) nuclear power plants,” the FSB said. According to Russian media, a third person is being sought who is said to be in Belgium.
The TASS news agency also reported that two “Russian supporters” have also been taken into custody. The two allegedly equipped the “saboteurs” with false license plates, means of communication and vehicles.
