Officials almost run over – Alkolenker (68) fled from the police in the Zillertal

Date:

There are dramatic scenes that took place late Tuesday evening on the B169 in the Tyrolean Zillertal. A 68-year-old local resident gave chase with the police and was initially unstoppable, so the officers had to call in reinforcements.

During a targeted alcohol and narcotics check in Uderns, the apparently heavily drunk driver was spotted by the police patrol around 11 p.m. At the intersection of Dorfstraße and Zillertal Bundesstraße, the officials wanted to stop the man with the flashing lights. “A police officer got out of the emergency vehicle and signaled the driver to stop,” the detectives report in a broadcast, “the car approached the police vehicle at low speed.” The driver should have noticed the officer. He accelerated and drove towards the man. He had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the car.

The police patrol gave chase to the fleeing man, who fled into the valley at high speed on the B169. Several attempts to apprehend the alcohol driver with a follow horn, blue flashing lights and a brake disc failed. The police officers eventually called for more patrols for reinforcements.

Driving license taken on the spot
At about Stumm level, the agents finally succeeded and managed to stop the drunk. He tried to escape one more time, but was unsuccessful. The 68-year-old resident was then taken to the police station in Ried. The doctor there examined him, and it also turned out that the man had more than 1.5 promille alcohol in his blood. He has temporarily lost his driver’s license, and he must also count on a declaration.
