In Innsbruck’s Alpenzoo, the joy is great today: two small moose calves were recently born there and can now be seen by visitors in the enclosure. The twin series in the moose enclosure will continue for another year.
“Two years ago we were lucky enough to have small moose in the Alpenzoo for the first time in many years. Since then, our female has given birth to and raised twins every year,” says zoo director André Stadler enthusiastically. This year, too, there is twice as much reason to celebrate in the enclosure of the largest deer in the world. The moose calves are considered difficult foster children, which is why the joy over the descendants is especially great.
The moose calves are not the only babies currently on display at the Alpenzoo: the stork has also been busy on the farm, with the wild boars and chamois.
