Vote whipped up – Tribunal: Trump pleads “not guilty”

Date:

The former US president has pleaded “not guilty” to landmark charges against Donald Trump in the handling of classified government documents. The meeting took place behind closed doors. The indictment charges the former US president with more than 35 criminal offenses. Radical fans already called up arms in the run-up to court!

“If you want to catch Trump, the road leads through me and 75 million other Americans,” Republican Kari Lake of Arizona said ahead of the tribunal against the former US president in Miami. Martial added, “And you should know that most of us are members of the National Firearms Association.”

“We have now entered a phase of war!”
Republican Rep. Andy Biggs stormed on Twitter: “We are now in a phase of war! Eye for an eye!” Florida governor and Trump contender for the Republican presidential nomination, Ron DeSantis, has spoken of an “instrumentalization” of the US judiciary, and former Trump ambassador Nikki Haley has called the allegations a “vendetta.”

Countless avid Trump fans
In this excited mood, countless fanatical Trump fans — including the far-right thugs of the Proud Boys — had gathered in front of the federal courthouse in Miami when Donald Trump’s motorcade was due to arrive there shortly before 3 p.m. local time. The police had cordoned off the entrances and said they were prepared in advance for anything – for 5,000, but also for 50,000 demonstrators.

As is customary in such cases, the ex-president was temporarily “taken into custody” and processed for identification before the indictment was presented in court. As reported, Trump is charged with more than 35 criminal offenses and some misdemeanor in the 49-page paper.

Essentially, Trump reportedly took home thousands of documents, some of them top secret, from his tenure as president and basically stored them in a dance hall, in his bedroom and bathroom, and elsewhere for public access, and boasted that in some cases to friends. He is also charged with obstruction of justice. Theoretically, a long prison sentence is imminent.
