It is about a criminal case that took place on the Erzberg last weekend. After the prologue – here the drivers compete for a place in the top 500 for the Sunday rodeo – a Styrian wanted a drink in the beer tent in the arena. The enthusiastic motorcyclist had already secured the starting place for the toughest race in the world.
The engine suddenly went off
“I wanted to improve on Saturday, but my starting place would have been fixed,” says the 18-year-old against the “Krone”. But when he came back around 4 p.m., the shock was: His machine, a KTM 300EXC, was gone.
“I searched for half an hour, then I went to the police.” And he and his friends continued their search on Saturday. But the engine was gone.
Did the thief drive under his name?
Then on Sunday the next nasty surprise: his name suddenly appears in the list of rodeo participants. “I wasn’t even on the Erzberg anymore, I was already home”, the Styrian can’t believe it. “None of us have an explanation for that. What was the point? And how could he sign up with my name in the first place?
The organizers promised to get to the bottom of everything. The 18-year-old hopes his bike will float to the surface again.
