A 56-year-old woman drowned in southern Styria on Thursday after falling into a water shaft. The woman was found lifeless and upside down in the shaft by neighbors in Hengsberg (Leibnitz district), according to a police report.
The registered emergency doctor could only determine her death. The woman may have bent into the shaft – possibly to read the water level – and lost her balance in the process.
No evidence of third party guilt
She was then unable to free herself from the situation and probably drowned. There were no indications of third party debts. The body has already been released by the prosecutor.
