Or when the rainbow parade talks about pride, queer and co? No? Understandably, we too sometimes find it difficult to stay apart. So we went looking for clarity. Spoiler: much easier than expected.
Joe Niedermayer (he/him), president of the “RosaLila Pantherinnen” in Graz, sighs knowingly but kindly when we ask him what all these expressions mean: “Yes, it feels like our community gets new terms every year, so that the broad masses are overwhelmed and no one knows what to do anymore. It’s not that complicated,” he says. “What makes it more complicated is people’s fear of making mistakes, of addressing someone the wrong way.”
