Absence due to illness in the Basque Autonomous Community for the first quarter of 2023 is therefore one percentage point lower than in the same period a year ago.
In the first quarter of the year, Euskadi was the the autonomous community with the highest absenteeism rate in the statea 7.5%as stated in the Adecco report Healthy Business and Absenteeism Management.
The main conclusion of this report is that absenteeism in Spain is for the first quarter of 2023 6.5%. This figure has decreased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2022 and by one percentage point compared to the same period of the previous year.
As for absenteeism Temporary incapacity for workthe rate is 5.1%a figure that is slightly down compared to the previous quarter (-0.1 percentage point).
The Basque Autonomous Community is the one with the highest absenteeism rate, at 7.5% one percentage point lower than in the same period a year ago.
It is also the municipality where absenteeism is higher in the service sectorwith a rate of 8% in the first quarter of the year, although it was down one percentage point year-over-year.
