Murder alert in Vienna-Ottakring: A terrible bloody act is said to have taken place in the Thaliastraße area near Brunnenmarkt on Monday. A woman (28) was found with stab wounds in an apartment – she died on the spot. In addition, a man (35) with life-threatening injuries was found in a courtyard. He had previously jumped from the third floor.

At around 1:45 p.m., the Viennese police were alerted because of an injured person in a courtyard in Thaliastrasse. There, officers found a 35-year-old man with serious injuries. First aid measures were immediately taken.

Woman died in the apartment
Shortly afterwards, the next shock: a woman with stab wounds was found in an apartment. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the crime scene, life-saving measures were useless.

Suspected murder weapon found
“The emergency services of the Vienna Professional Rescue Service, who were also informed, took over the emergency medical assistance. The 35-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the police reported on Monday. According to initial information, a knife was found at the crime scene. In addition, the man would have jumped from the third floor and fell about 10 meters.

There is probably no third person involved
According to the initial findings, the two have not yet been noticed by the police, for example in connection with violence in the private sphere. According to police spokesman Daniel Fürst, according to the afternoon’s level of knowledge, there was nothing to indicate that a third person was involved in the events. The West department of the National Investigation Department conducted the investigation.
