Several people were injured in a suspected attack in the Israeli metropolis of Tel Aviv. A car drove into a group of pedestrians, the Israeli rescue service reported Tuesday. At least five injured people are currently being treated at the scene.
The background to the incident was initially unclear. According to media reports, shots were also fired, initially wounding 10 people, several of them in critical condition.
Perpetrator “neutralized”
An Israeli police spokesman told army radio that the driver who hit the pedestrians had previously committed a knife attack. The man was “neutralized” by a civilian aid worker, the spokesman said. He described the incident as terrorism.
Videos of the scene are circulating on social media. Among them is a clip that would show the dead suspected killer. Next to them are two men, aiming their pistols at those lying on the floor.
