In the murder case of a German businessman whose dismembered body was found in Thailand on Monday, the number of suspects has now risen to four. Another German citizen is now being targeted by the detectives.
The German suspects are a 52-year-old man and two women aged 52 and 54, the Bangkok Post newspaper reported on Thursday. All would have denied having anything to do with the 62-year-old’s death. As reported, 54-year-old Petra G., who allegedly met Richard Lugner while filming the ATV station, and then invited him to parties several times.
The victim has been missing since July 4. His body was finally found on Monday at an estate in Nong Prue, a suburb of the well-known resort town of Pattaya – dismembered in a freezer. Three of those arrested – including a 27-year-old Pakistani man – are suspected of sawing the body into 13 parts and then hiding it in plastic bags in the chest, the newspaper quotes the police.
Fourth suspect in hospital with injuries
The fourth suspect would have rented the house where the dead man was found. Several media outlets reported that she was being treated at a hospital for injuries she probably self-inflicted. According to investigators, the death of the businessman would be related to extortion.
