It was April 26 when an Upper Austrian (28) marched into a social institution in Elsbethen during acute and untreated psychosis, met his and another supervisor there, took out a jackknife and stabbed him twice. The man then went straight to the nearby police station with the murder weapon and turned himself in.
He allowed himself to be arrested there without resistance, the “Krone” reported at the time. The rescue team immediately took the two seriously injured to hospital: they were already recovering from the knife wounds in the chest and abdomen.
The mentally ill man had been chasing a woman
After obtaining a neuropsychiatric report, the public prosecutor’s office is certain: the man was not in his senses at that time. And he is therefore not guilty of the act, which was judged as attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
