A cyclist roared through Vienna late Sunday night, high and with a rifle in his backpack. Due to his unsafe driving behavior, the police immediately became aware of him. Then the 36-year-old fled – with many obstacles.
At around 10:15 p.m., officers from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gasse police inspection noticed the cyclist. The reason was his unsafe driving style. No wonder – the man had also used cannabis before.
Bumpy chase through Vienna
When the police officers asked him to stop, he fled. The escape journey was quite bumpy, as the 36-year-old soon fell and crashed into a parked car. He immediately tried to continue his escape attempt on foot, but first pushed aside an officer. The emergency services lost sight of the man for a short time, until they found him again on Mariahilfer Strasse in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district.
Drugs and shotgun seized
The suspect was immediately arrested and his backpack searched. Look, the man had cannabis and a sawed-off shotgun on him. He was also drunk and had 1.4 promille in his blood. According to the Viennese police, the man from Poland did not want to comment on the weapon.
