A US soldier may have accidentally entered North Korean territory while touring the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. According to the UN command, the American is in custody.
“We are working with our colleagues in the Korean People’s Army to resolve this incident,” the UN command said. The South Korean military has not yet released any information about the incident.

Americans have illegally entered North Korea several times in recent years. There they were usually sentenced to several years in prison and only released after lengthy negotiations.
