Unfortunately, the hoped-for minor research successes failed to materialize with the burglary of former alderman Josef Fill (84). The politician was reportedly attacked and tied up at home. The head of the National Investigation Department speaks of a “perfectly prepared act”.
A video would be nice, showing the three robbers who visited the building of ex-alderman and company founder Josef Fill (84) in Gurten on Monday evening. But the easy research successes remain. Because the building is somewhat isolated, and at the time of the crime, around one o’clock in the morning, the alarm system was also deactivated. There is also no usable video surveillance on neighboring properties in the area.
search for clues
It is therefore also unclear whether the perpetrators used the Ford stolen two days earlier in Gurten as a getaway car. In any case, the car never surfaced again. The detectives of the National Criminal Investigation Department are now hoping for traces left behind – for example, on the cable ties that the perpetrators used to bind Fill, his wife (80) and daughter (60).
“Perfectly prepared”
“The act was perfectly prepared,” said Gottfried Mitterlehner, head of the Upper Austrian criminal investigation department. The former state politician, who had celebrated his birthday a few hours earlier, was also specifically targeted as a victim. The perpetrators probably did not expect that there would only be about 200 euros to collect on the site. Mitterlehner cannot understand the assumptions that the robbers struck because a thunderstorm was raging at the time of the crime.
