Four months probation and a fine of 2880 euros. This is the verdict pronounced against a 23-year-old woman in the LG Feldkirch (Vorarlberg).
Reason: The woman had reported an acquaintance to the police for rape. A lawsuit has been launched against the man. As the woman later admitted, she made up the accusations out of revenge for rejected love.
While the investigation against the 36-year-old was dropped, the liar had an aftermath. The young lady had to answer to court for false testimony to the police and libel. There she also admitted her misconduct.
Wrong statements
The 26-year-old claimed to have been raped multiple times by the 36-year-old. He forced her into the meetings with subsequent intercourse with the threat that he would otherwise publish videos of the sex together. And he sexually abused her when she was drunk and therefore defenseless. What the man in the study had always denied was that the sex was always consensual.
Judge Silke Sandholzer addresses the 23-year-old again after the verdict: “With her false accusations, she put the man in danger of being innocently sentenced to prison. In addition, there is an increased risk that other women who report sex offenses to the police will not be believed more.”
