Two trials – money evader and brother-in-law lied after a car accident

Date:

A Mühlviertler (17) had “borrowed” his brother-in-law’s car and destroyed it, seriously injuring a friend. But his brother-in-law covered for him and now, like the 17-year-old, has to answer for a court in Upper Austria. The black rider has already accepted his sentence.

The two must answer to court after a serious accident in Windhaag near Perg. The youngest has since been sentenced. At the time of the crime, the 17-year-old was behind the wheel of his 35-year-old brother-in-law without a driver’s license or driving experience. In Windhaag near Perg the tour ended at a residential building. A 23-year-old passenger suffered a traumatic brain injury and fractured vertebrae, the incisors were knocked out.

Lies have short legs
Then the lying started. The 35-year-old took the blame, saying he was the driver. The real driver had fled. But the police soon discovered the truth. He confessed to the juvenile court in Linz on Wednesday and immediately accepted the suspended sentence of six months – a year in prison could have been possible.

At the same time, his brother-in-law would have faced trial for making false statements – a three-year prison sentence was threatened – but this trial was postponed at short notice.
