On Wednesday, a sensational accident occurred at Kraubath an der Mur during an army training trip: a non-commissioned officer and three recruits from the 2nd anti-aircraft battalion in Zeltweg came with a Pinzgauer and fell from a steep slope 70 meters deep.
The professional soldier and a recruit were seriously injured and two other recruits were slightly injured. As the Styrian military leadership announced on Thursday, all soldiers are on the mend.
The vehicle involved in the accident was recovered on Thursday. A Black Hawk helicopter retrieved the two-ton vehicle from the canyon before loading it with a crane. A specially appointed committee must now clarify the course of the accident.
