The body of a 50-year-old man was discovered on Wednesday evening by a cyclist on the Neue Donau in Vienna. He had been reported missing three days earlier.
The 50-year-old had not returned home after a walk and has since disappeared without a trace. That same night he was reported missing by his family. However, a search that was started was not successful. Until now.
Possible swimming accident
When the alarmed emergency services arrived on the scene and removed the body from the water, the identity of the body was then established. It was actually the 50-year-old missing person.
Police believe it was a swimming accident. Negligence of third parties is excluded.
