Road users needed a lot of patience on the S1 near Vienna on Friday morning: a small truck had overturned in the construction site and a traffic jam that was kilometers long quickly formed.
A spokesman for the ÖAMTC said about the current traffic jam situation on the S1 in the morning hours: “The trend is strongly increasing.” The accident took place on the construction site in the direction of Schwechat at the Laxenburger Straße interchange, but traffic jams soon formed in the oncoming lane as well.
Lost 45 minutes
The traffic jam in the direction of Schwechat stretched nine kilometers back to the Vienna outer ring road (A21) around 7:30 am. A loss of about 45 minutes was to be expected. In the opposite direction, the traffic jam was about five kilometers long. Dodge was recommended.
