Excitement Thursday morning in the Himmelberg municipality in the Feldkirchen district (Carinthia): Police patrols and fire brigades searched for three hours for the possibly injured driver of a car discovered in an accident. However, he was probably at his workplace.
Around 12:30 pm the alarm was raised in Himmelberg: a car involved in an accident was discovered next to the road – only the driver was missing. Because the police could not rule out that he had dragged himself away from the scene of the accident with injuries, they immediately started a search. Several patrols, including sniffer dogs and 30 men from the fire brigades of Feldkirchen, Poitschach and St. Ulrich, eventually started the search.
Uninjured during shift
It had to be stopped after three hours to no avail. Moments later there was great relief: the 51-year-old driver of the accident was found unharmed at his workplace. According to his own statements, he had left the road due to the icy road and wanted to deal with the matter after the end of his shift.
